And Nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.
And Noah cried unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Lo! my son is of my household! Surely Thy promise is the truth and Thou are the Most Just of Judges.

Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)

A Return to the Story of the Son of Nuh and mentioning what transpired between Nuh and Allah concerning Him

Allah tells:

وَنَادَى نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ ...

And Nuh called upon his Lord,

This was a request for information and an inquiry from Nuh concerning the circumstances of his son's drowning.

... فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابُنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي ...

and said, "O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family!''

This means, "Verily, You promised to save my family and Your promise is the truth that does not fail. Therefore, how can he (my son) be drowned and You are the Most Just of the judges!''

... وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾

And certainly, Your promise is true, and You are the Most Just of the judges.''
