قَالَ هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ كَمَا أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ فَاللّهُ خَيْرٌ حَافِظاً وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Qala hal amanukum AAalayhi illa kama amintukum AAala akheehi min qablu faAllahu khayrun hafithan wahuwa arhamu alrrahimeena

Ya ce: "Ashe, zã ni amince muku a kansa? Fãce dai kamar yadda na amince muku a kan ɗan´uwansa daga gabãni, sai dai Allah ne Mafĩfĩcin mãsu tsari, kuma Shĩ ne Mafi rahamar mãsu rahama."
He said: "Shall I trust you with him with any result other than when I trusted you with his brother aforetime? But Allah is the best to take care (of him), and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!"
He said: I cannot trust in you with respect to him, except as I trusted in you with respect to his brother before; but Allah is the best Keeper, and He is the most Merciful of the merciful ones.
He said: Can I entrust him to you save as I entrusted his brother to you aforetime? Allah is better at guarding, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
قَالَ هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِلاَّ كَمَا أَمِنتُكُمْ عَلَى أَخِيهِ مِن قَبْلُ ...
He said: "Can I entrust him to you except as I entrusted his brother (Yusuf) to you aforetime!
He asked them, `Will you do to him except what you did to his brother Yusuf before, when you took him away from me and separated me from him.'
... فَاللّهُ خَيْرٌ حَافِظًا وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ﴿٦٤﴾
But Allah is the Best to guard, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.
Yaqub said, `Allah has the most mercy with me among all those who show mercy, He is compassionate with me for my old age, feebleness and eagerness for my son. I invoke Allah to return him to me, and to allow him and I to be together; for surely, He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.'
ولهذا قال لهم " هل آمنكم عليه إلا كما أمنتكم على أخيه من قبل " أي هل أنتم صانعون به إلا كما صنعتم بأخيه من قبل تغيبونه عني وتحولون بيني وبينه ؟ " فالله خير حافظا " وقرأ بعضهم حفظا " وهو أرحم الراحمين " أي هو أرحم الراحمين بي وسيرحم كبري وضعفي ووجدي بولدي وأرجو من الله أن يرده علي ويجمع شملي به إنه أرحم الراحمين .
"قال هل" ما "آمنكم عليه إلا كما أمنتكم على أخيه" يوسف "من قبل" وقد فعلتم به ما فعلتم "فالله خير حافظا" وفي قراءة حفظا تمييز كقولهم لله دره فارسا "وهو أرحم الراحمين" فأرجو أن يمن بحفظه
أي قد فرطتم في يوسف فكيف آمنكم على أخيه ! .
I'raab - grammatical analysis of the Qur'an
«قالَ هَلْ آمَنُكُمْ» هل حرف استفهام وآمنكم مضارع فاعله مستتر والكاف مفعوله والجملة مقول القول.
«عَلَيْهِ» متعلقان بآمنكم.
«إِلَّا» أداة حصر.
«كَما» الكاف حرف تشبيه وما مصدرية.
«أَمِنْتُكُمْ» ماض وفاعله والكاف مفعوله.
«عَلى أَخِيهِ» على حرف جر وأخيه مجرور بالياء لأنه من الأسماء الخمسة والهاء مضاف إليه متعلقان بأمنتكم.
«مِنْ قَبْلُ» قبل ظرف زمان مبني على الضم في محل جر وبني على الضم لقطعه عن الإضافة لفظا لا معنى متعلقان بأمنتكم والمصدر المؤول في محل جر.
«فَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ» لفظ الجلالة مبتدأ وخير خبر والفاء الفصيحة.
«حافِظاً» تمييز والجملة من المبتدأ والخبر لا محل لها لأنها وقعت في جواب شرط غير جازم والتقدير فإذا كان لا بد من إرساله فاللّه خير حافظا وقرىء خير حفظا وخير حافظ.
«وَهُوَ أَرْحَمُ» مبتدأ وخبر والجملة معطوفة.
«الرَّاحِمِينَ» مضاف إليه بالياء.
