وَسَكَنتُمْ فِي مَسَـاكِنِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الأَمْثَالَ
Wasakantum fee masakini allatheena thalamoo anfusahum watabayyana lakum kayfa faAAalna bihim wadarabna lakumu alamthala

"Kuma kuka zaunã a cikin gidãjen waɗanda suka zãlunci kansu, kuma ya bayyana a gare ku yadda Muka aikatã game da su, kuma Muka buga muku misãlai."
"And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls; ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and We put forth (many) parables in your behoof!"
And you dwell in the abodes of those who were unjust to themselves, and it is clear to you how We dealt with them and We have made (them) examples to you.
And (have ye not) dwelt in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves (of old) and (hath it not) become plain to you how We dealt with them and made examples for you?
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
وَسَكَنتُمْ فِي مَسَـاكِنِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ كَيْفَ فَعَلْنَا بِهِمْ وَضَرَبْنَا لَكُمُ الأَمْثَالَ ﴿٤٥﴾
And you dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We had dealt with them. And We put forth (many) parables for you.
Allah says, `you have witnessed or heard of the news of what happened to the earlier disbelieving nations, but you did not draw a lesson from their end, nor did what We punished them with provide an example for you,'
حِكْمَةٌ بَـلِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِـى النُّذُرُ
Perfect wisdom but the warners benefit then not. (54:5)
وسكنتم في مساكن الذين ظلموا أنفسهم وتبين لكم كيف فعلنا بهم وضربنا لكم الأمثال " أي قد رأيتم وبلغكم ما أحللنا بالأمم المكذبة قبلكم ومع هذا لم يكن لكم فيهم معتبر ولم يكن فيما أوقعنا بهم لكم مزدجر " حكمة بالغة فما تغني النذر " .
"وسكنتم" فيها "في مساكن الذين ظلموا أنفسهم" بالكفر من الأمم السابقة "وتبين لكم كيف فعلنا بهم" من العقوبة فلم تنزجروا "وضربنا" بينا "لكم الأمثال" في القرآن فلم تعتبروا
أي في بلاد ثمود ونحوها فهلا اعتبرتم بمساكنهم , بعد ما تبين لكم ما فعلنا بهم , وبعد أن ضربنا لكم الأمثال في القرآن . وقرأ أبو عبد الرحمن السلمي " ونبين لكم " بنون والجزم على أنه مستقبل ومعناه الماضي ; وليناسب قوله : " كيف فعلنا بهم " . وقراءة الجماعة , " وتبين " وهي مثلها في المعنى ; لأن ذلك لا تبين لهم إلا بتبيين الله إياهم .

«وَسَكَنْتُمْ» ماض وفاعله والميم للجمع والجملة معطوفة على أقسمتم.
«فِي مَساكِنِ» تتعلقان بسكنتم.
«الَّذِينَ» موصول مضاف إليه.
«ظَلَمُوا» ماض وفاعله والجملة صلة.
«أَنْفُسَهُمْ» مفعول به والهاء مضاف إليه.
«وَتَبَيَّنَ» ماض فاعله مستتر والجملة معطوفة على ما سبق.
«لَكُمْ» متعلقان بتبين.
«كَيْفَ» اسم استفهام في محل نصب مفعول مطلق أو حال.
«فَعَلْنا» ماض وفاعله.
«بِهِمْ» متعلقان بفعلنا والجملة مفسرة لا محل لها.
«وَضَرَبْنا» ماض وفاعله والجملة معطوفة على ما سبق.
«لَكُمْ» متعلقان بضربنا.
«الْأَمْثالَ» مفعول به.
