كَذَلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاء مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ وَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكْراً
Kathalika naqussu AAalayka min anbai ma qad sabaqa waqad ataynaka min ladunna thikran

Kamar wancan ne Muke lãbartãwa(1) a gare ka, daga lãbãran abin da ya gabãta, alhãli kuwa haƙĩƙa, Mun bã ka zikiri (Alƙur´ãni) daga gunMu.
Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence.
Thus do We relate to you (some) of the news of what has gone before; and indeed We have given to you a Reminder from Ourselves.
Thus relate We unto thee (Muhammad) some tidings of that which happened of old, and We have given thee from Our presence a reminder.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
The Entire Qur'an is the Remembrance of Allah and mentioning the Punishment of Those Who turn away from It
Allah the Exalted says,
كَذَلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاء مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ وَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكْرًا ﴿٩٩﴾
Thus We relate to you some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder.
Allah, the Exalted, is saying to Prophet Muhammad, `We have told you (O Muhammad) the story of Musa and what happened with him, Fir`awn and his armies, just as it actually happened.
Likewise, We relate to you the information of the past just as it happened, without any increase or decrease.
We also gave you a remembrance from Us, the Mighty Qur'an, no falsehood comes to it from before it or behind it.' It is a revelation from One Most Wise, Most Praiseworthy.
No Prophet was given any Book like it or more complete than it, since the time of the previous Prophets who were sent, until their being sealed off with the coming of Muhammad.
No Prophet was given any Book containing as much information than the Qur'an about what has past and what would be. The judgement concerning the distinction between mankind is taken from it. Therefore, Allah says about it,
يقول تعالى لنبيه محمد كما قصصنا عليك خبر موسى وما جرى له مع فرعون وجنوده على الجلية والأمر الواقع كذلك نقص عليك الأخبار الماضية كما وقعت من غير زيادة ولا نقص هذا وقد آتيناك من لدنا أي من عندنا ذكرا وهو القرآن العظيم الذي لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه تنزيل من حكيم حميد الذي لم يعط نبي من الأنبياء منذ بعثوا إلى أن ختموا بمحمد كتابا مثله ولا أكمل منه ولا أجمع لخبر ما سبق وخبر ما هو كائن وحكم الفصل بين الناس منه .
"كذلك" أي كما قصصنا عليك يا محمد هذه القصة "نقص عليك من أنباء" أخبار "ما قد سبق" من الأمم "وقد آتيناك" أعطيناك "من لدنا" من عندنا "ذكرا" قرآنا
الكاف في موضع نصب نعت لمصدر محذوف . أي كما قصصنا عليك خبر موسى " كذلك نقص عليك " قصصا كذلك من أخبار ما قد سبق ; ليكون تسلية لك , وليدل على صدقك .

«كَذلِكَ» حرف الجر واسم الإشارة متعلقان بصفة لمفعول مطلق محذوف تقديره نقص عليك قصصا كائنا مثل الذي قصصناه عليك «نَقُصُّ» مضارع فاعله مستتر والجملة ابتدائية «عَلَيْكَ» متعلقان بنقص «مِنْ أَنْباءِ» متعلقان بالفعل نقص «ما» موصولية مضاف إليه «قَدْ سَبَقَ» الجملة صلة لا محل لها «وَقَدْ» الواو حالية قد حرف تحقيق «آتَيْناكَ» ماض وفاعل ومفعول به أول والجملة حالية «مِنْ لَدُنَّا» متعلقان بمحذوف حال من ذكرا «ذِكْراً» مفعول به ثان
