يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ
وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

Sabõda haka kada ka yi ɗã´ã ga kãfirai, ka yãke su, da shi, yãƙi mai girma.
Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an).
So do not follow the unbelievers, and strive against them a mighty striving with it.
So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
Allah says:
فَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَجَاهِدْهُم بِهِ ...
So obey not the disbelievers, but strive hard against them with it.
meaning, with the Qur'an.
This was the view of Ibn Abbas.
... جِهَادًا كَبِيرًا ﴿٥٢﴾
with the utmost endeavour.
This is like the Ayah,
يَأَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ جَـهِدِ الْكُفَّـرَ وَالْمُنَـفِقِينَ
O Prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, (9:73)
ولهذا قال تعالى : " فلا تطع الكافرين وجاهدهم به " يعني بالقرآن قاله ابن عباس : " جهادا كبيرا" . كما قال تعالى : " يا أيها النبي جاهد الكفار والمنافقين " الآية .
"فلا تطع الكافرين" في هواهم "وجاهدهم به" أي القرآن
أي فيما يدعونك إليه من اتباع آلهتهم .

«فَلا تُطِعِ» الفاء الفصيحة ولا ناهية ومضارع فاعله مستتر «الْكافِرِينَ» مفعول به والجملة لا محل لها «وَجاهِدْهُمْ بِهِ جِهاداً كَبِيراً» فعل أمر فاعله مستتر ومفعول به ومفعول مطلق وصفة له والجار والمجرور متعلقان بجاهدهم والجملة معطوفة
