عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ

Kuma ya kangare, shi da rundunõninsa a cikin ƙasa, bã da haƙƙi ba kuma suka zaci cħwa sũ, bã zã a mayar da su zuwa gare Mu ba.
And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- He and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us!
And he was unjustly proud in the land, he and his hosts, and they deemed that they would not be brought back to Us.
And he and his hosts were haughty in the land without right, and deemed that they would never be brought back to Us.

And Allah tells:
وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾
And he and his armies were arrogant in the land, without right, and they thought that they would never return to Us.
means, they were arrogant oppressors who spread much mischief in the land, and they believed that there would be no Resurrection.
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ
So, your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). (89:13-14)
وقوله تعالى : " واستكبر هو وجنوده في الأرض بغير الحق وظنوا أنهم إلينا لا يرجعون " أي طغوا وتجبروا وأكثروا في الأرض الفساد واعتقدوا أنه لا قيامة ولا معاد " فصب عليهم ربك سوط عذاب إن ربك لبالمرصاد " .
"واستكبر هو وجنوده في الأرض" أرض مصر "بغير الحق وظنوا أنهم إلينا لا يرجعون" بالبناء للفاعل وللمفعول
