فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ

Faakhathnahu wajunoodahu fanabathnahum fee alyammi faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena

Yoruba Translation

Hausa Translation

Sai Muka kãma shi, shĩ da rundunõninsa sai Muka jħfa su a cikin kõgi. Sai ka dũbi yaddaãƙibar azzãlumai ta kasance.

So We seized him and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: Now behold what was the end of those who did wrong!
So We caught hold of him and his hosts, then We cast them into the sea, and see how was the end of the unjust.
Therefor We seized him and his hosts, and abandoned them unto the sea. Behold the nature of the consequence for evil-doers!

Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)

Allah says here:

فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ ...

So, We seized him and his armies, and We threw them all into the sea.

meaning, `We drowned them in the sea in a single morning, and not one of them was left.'

... فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٤٠﴾

وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ...

So, behold what was the end of the wrongdoers. And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire.

for those who followed them and took the same path as they did, rejecting the Messengers and denying the Creator.

... وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٤١﴾

and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped.

their humiliation in this world is combined with and connected to their humiliation in the Hereafter, as Allah says:

أَهْلَكْنَـهُمْ فَلاَ نَـصِرَ لَهُمْ

We have destroyed them. And there was none to help them. (47:13)

وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً ...

And We made a curse to follow them in this world,

Allah decreed that they and their king Fir`awn should be cursed by the believers among His servants who follow His Messengers, just as in this world they were cursed by the Prophets and their followers.

قال تعالى ههنا " فأخذناه وجنوده فنبذناهم في اليم " أي أغرقناهم في البحر في صبيحة واحدة فلم يبق سهم أحد " فانظر كيف كان عاقبة الظالمين " .

"فأخذناه وجنوده فنبذناهم" طرحناهم "في اليم" البحر المالح فغرقوا "فانظر كيف كان عاقبة الظالمين" حين صاروا إلى الهلاك

وكانوا ألفي ألف وستمائة ألف

«فَأَخَذْناهُ» الفاء حرف استئناف وماض وفاعله ومفعوله والجملة مستأنفة لا محل لها «وَجُنُودَهُ» معطوف على الضمير المنصوب «فَنَبَذْناهُمْ» الفاء حرف عطف وماض وفاعله ومفعوله والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها «فِي الْيَمِّ» متعلقان بالفعل «فَانْظُرْ» الفاء حرف استئناف وأمر فاعله مستتر والجملة مستأنفة لا محل لها. «كَيْفَ» اسم استفهام خبر كان المقدم «كانَ» ماض ناقص «عاقِبَةُ» اسم كان
المؤخر «الظَّالِمِينَ» مضاف إليه وجملة كيف كان .. سدت مسد مفعولي انظر
