Maƙaskanta ga idanunsu, wani walakanci yana rufe su. wannan shi ne yinin da suka kasance ana yi musa alkawari (a kansa.)
Their eyes lowered in dejection,- ignominy covering them (all over)! such is the Day the which they are promised!
Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with.
With eyes aghast, abasement stupefying them: Such is the Day which they are promised.

Concerning Allah's statement,
خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُ...
With their eyes lowered in fear,
meaning humbled.
... هُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ...
covering them with humility.
meaning, in return for how they behaved arrogantly in the worldly life by refusing to be obedient (to Allah).
... ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾
That is the Day which they were promised!
This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Ma'arij. And all praise and thanks are due to Allah.
" خاشعة أبصارهم " أي خاضعة " ترهقهم ذلة " أي في مقابلة ما استكبروا في الدنيا عن الطاعة .
"خاشعة" ذليلة "أبصارهم ترهقهم" تغشاهم "ذلة ذلك اليوم الذي كانوا يوعدون" ذلك مبتدأ وما بعده خبر ومعناه يوم القيامة
أي ذليلة خاضعة , لا يرفعونها لما يتوقعونه من عذاب الله .

«خاشِعَةً» حال «أَبْصارُهُمْ» فاعل خاشعة «تَرْهَقُهُمْ» مضارع ومفعوله «ذِلَّةٌ» فاعل مؤخر والجملة الفعلية حال ثانية «ذلِكَ» اسم الإشارة مبتدأ «الْيَوْمُ» خبره والجملة مستأنفة لا محل لها «الَّذِي» صفة اليوم «كانُوا» كان واسمها «يُوعَدُونَ» مضارع مبني للمجهول والواو نائب فاعل والجملة خبر كانوا وجملة كانوا .. صلة موصول.
