وَقَالَ الْمَلأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْباً إِنَّكُمْ إِذاً لَّخَاسِرُونَ
Waqala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi laini ittabaAAtum shuAAayban innakum ithan lakhasiroona

Kuma mashawarta waɗanda suka kãfirta daga mutãnensa, suka ce: "Lalle ne, idan kun bi Shu´aibu haƙĩƙa kũ, a lõkacin nan, mãsu hasãra ne."
The leaders, the unbelievers among his people, said: "If ye follow Shu'aib, be sure then ye are ruined!"
And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: If you follow Shu'aib, you shall then most surely be losers
But the chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: If ye follow Shu'eyb, then truly ye shall be the losers.

Previous 88-89
وَقَالَ الْمَلأ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذاً لَّخَـسِرُونَ
7:90 The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people): "If you follow Shu`ayb, be sure then you will be the losers!''
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُواْ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـثِمِينَ
7:91 So the earthquake seized them and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.
الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْاْ فِيهَا الَّذِينَ
7:92 Those who belied Shu`ayb, became as if they had never dwelt there (in their homes).
كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيْبًا كَانُواْ هُمُ الْخَـسِرِينَ
Those who belied Shu`ayb, they were the losers.
فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ
7:93 Then he (Shu`ayb) turned from them and said:
يَقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَـلَـتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ كَـفِرِينَ
"O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I grieve over people who are disbelievers.''

Allah tells,
وَقَالَ الْمَلأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوْمِهِ ...
The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people):
Allah describes the enormity of disbelief, rebellion, transgression and misguidance (of Shu`ayb's people) and the defiance of truth encrypted in their hearts. They vowed, saying,
... لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْباً إِنَّكُمْ إِذاً لَّخَاسِرُونَ ﴿٩٠﴾
"If you follow Shu`ayb, be sure then you will be the losers!''
Allah answered them,
يخبر تعالى عن شدة كفرهم وتمردهم وعتوهم وما هم فيه من الضلال وما جبلت عليه قلوبهم من المخالفة للحق ولهذا أقسموا وقالوا " لئن اتبعتم شعيبا إنكم إذا لخاسرون " .
"وقال الملأ الذين كفروا من قومه" أي قال بعضهم لبعض "لئن" لام قسم
أي قالوا لمن دونهم .
I'raab - grammatical analysis of the Qur'an
«قالَ الْمَلَأُ» فعل ماض وفاعله.
«لَئِنِ» اللام موطئة للقسم.
«إن» شرطية جازمة.
«اتَّبَعْتُمْ» فعل ماض مبني على السكون ، والتاء فاعله والميم لجمع الذكور.
«شُعَيْباً» مفعول به ، والجملة مقول القول.
«إِنَّكُمْ» إن حرف مشبه بالفعل والكاف اسمها ، والميم للجمع.
«إِذاً» حرف جواب وجزاء.
«لَخاسِرُونَ» خبر مرفوع وعلامة رفعه الواو ، والنون عوضا عن التنوين في الاسم المفرد ، واللام هي المزحلقة ، والجملة الاسمية لا محل لها جواب القسم ، وجواب الشرط محذوف لدلالة القسم عليه على القاعدة» إذا اجتمع شرط وقسم فالجواب للسابق منهما.
