وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ

Kuma dã (Muhammadu) yã faɗi wata maganã, yã jingina ta garħ Mu.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
If the Prophet forged anything against Allah, then Allah would punish Him
Allah says,
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ ﴿٤٤﴾
And if he had forged a false saying concerning Us,
meaning, `if Muhammad forged something against Us, as they claim, and added or removed anything from the Message, or said anything from himself while attributing it to Us, then We would surely be swift in punishing him.
And of course, Muhammad did not do any of this (as the disbelievers claimed).'
أي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم لو كان كما يزعمون مفتريا علينا فزاد في الرسالة أو نقص منها أو قال شيئا من عنده فنسبه إلينا وليس كذلك لعاجلناه بالعقوبة .
"ولو تقول" أي النبي "علينا بعض الأقاويل" بأن قال عنا ما لم نقله
"تقول " أي تكلف وأتى بقول من قبل نفسه . وقرئ " ولو تقول " على البناء للمفعول .

«وَلَوْ» الواو حرف عطف «لَوْ» شرطية غير جازمة «تَقَوَّلَ» ماض فاعله مستتر «عَلَيْنا» متعلقان بالفعل «بَعْضَ الْأَقاوِيلِ» مفعول به مضاف إلى الأقاويل والجملة ابتدائية لا محل لها
