Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
Concerning his statement,
إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًا ﴿٣٥﴾
Verily, You are ever seeing us.
This means in Your choosing us, giving us the Prophethood and sending us to Your enemy, Fir`awn. So unto You is all praise for this.
وقوله " إنك كنت بنا بصيرا " أي في اصطفائك لنا وإعطائك إيانا النبوة وبعثتك لنا إلى عدوك فرعون فلك الحمد على ذلك .
"إنك كنت بنا بصيرا" عالما فأنعمت بالرسالة
قال الخطابي : البصير المبصر , والبصير العالم بخفيات الأمور , فالمعنى ; أي عالما بنا , ومدركا لنا في صغرنا فأحسنت إلينا , فأحسن إلينا كذلك يا رب .
