وَيَا قَوْمِ لاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِي أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَا أَصَابَ
قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَالِحٍ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم
بِبَعِيدٍ

Sai Muka yi azãbar rãmuwã a gare su, kuma lalle sũ biyun, haƙĩƙa, sunã a għfen wani tafarki mabayyani.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
The Destruction of the Dwellers of Al-Aykah, the People of Shu`ayb
Allah tells;
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَابُ الأَيْكَةِ لَظَالِمِينَ ﴿٧٨﴾
فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٧٩﴾
And the Dwellers of Al-Aykah, were also wrongdoers. So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open route, plain to see.
The Dwellers of Al-Aykah, were the people of Shu`ayb.
Ad-Dahhak, Qatadah and others said that;
Al-Aykah refers to intertwined trees.
Their evildoing included associating partners with Allah (Shirk), banditry and cheating in weights and measures. Allah punished them with the Sayhah (the awful cry or torment), the earthquake, and the torment of the Day of Shadow. They lived near the people of Lut, but at a later time, and the people of Lut were known to them, which is why Allah says,
... وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
They are both on an open route, plain to see.
Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Ad-Dahhak and others said,
"a visible route.''
This is why, when Shu`ayb warned his people, he said to them,
وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ
And the people of Lut are not far off from you! (11:89)
فانتقم الله منهم بالصيحة والرجفة وعذاب يوم الظلة وقد كانوا قريبا من قوم لوط بعدهم في الزمان ومسامتين لهم في المكان ولهذا قال تعالى " وإنهما لبإمام مبين " أي طريق مبين قال ابن عباس ومجاهد والضحاك وغيره طريق ظاهر ولهذا لما أنذر شعيب قومه قال في نذارته إياهم " وما قوم لوط منكم ببعيد " .
"فانتقمنا منهم" بأن أهلكناهم بشدة الحر "وإنهما" أي قرى قوم لوط والأيكة "لبإمام" طريق "مبين" واضح أفلا تعتبرون بهم يا أهل مكة
أي بطريق واضح في نفسه , يعني مدينة قوم لوط وبقعة أصحاب الأيكة يعتبر بهما من يمر عليهما .
I'raab - grammatical analysis of the Qur'an
«فَانْتَقَمْنا» الفاء عاطفة وفعل ماض وفاعله والجملة معطوفة على جملة محذوفة تقديرها أسرفوا بالإثم فانتقمنا «مِنْهُمْ» متعلقان بانتقمنا.
«وَإِنَّهُما» الواو حالية وإن واسمها.
«لَبِإِمامٍ» اللام المزحلقة بإمام متعلقان بالخبر.
«مُبِينٍ» صفة لإمام والجملة حالية.
