بِكُمْ جَانِبَ الْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِباً ثُمَّ لاَ تَجِدُواْ لَكُمْ

إِذاً لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لاَ تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيراً
Ithan laathaqnaka diAAfa alhayati wadiAAfa almamati thumma la tajidu laka AAalayna naseeran

A lõkacin, lalle ne, dã Mun ɗanɗana maka ninkin azãbar rãyuwa da ninkin azãbar mutuwa, sa´an nan kuma bã zã ka sãmi mataimaki ba a kanMu.
In that case We should have made thee taste an equal portion (of punishment) in this life, and an equal portion in death: and moreover thou wouldst have found none to help thee against Us!
In that case We would certainly have made you to taste a double (punishment) in this life and a double (punishment) after death, then you would not have found any helper against Us.
Then had we made thee taste a double (punishment) of living and a double (punishment) of dying, then hadst thou found no helper against Us.

How the Prophet would have been punished if He had given in at all to the Disbelievers' Demands that He change some of the Revelation
Allah tells us that;
How He supported His Prophet and protected him and kept him safe from the evil plots of the wicked transgressors.
Allah is the One Who took care of him and helped him, and would not leave him to any of His creation.
He is the One Who is His Helper, Supporter and Protector, the One Who is to help him achieve victory and make His religion prevail over those who resist him and oppose him and fight him in the east and in the west.
May Allah send peace and blessings upon him until the Day of Judgement.
يخبر تعالى عن تأييده رسوله صلوات الله عليه وسلامه وتثبيته وعصمته وسلامته من شر الأشرار وكيد الفجار وأنه تعالى هو المتولي أمره ونصره وأنه لا يكله إلى أحد من خلقه بل هو وليه وحافظه وناصره ومؤيده ومظفره ومظهر دينه على من عاداه وخالفه وناوأه في مشارق الأرض ومغاربها صلى الله عليه وسلم تسليما كثيرا إلى يوم الدين .
"إذا" لو ركنت "ضعف الحياة" أي ضعف العذاب "وضعف الممات" أي مثلي ما يعذب غيرك في الدنيا والآخرة "نصيرا" مانعا منه
أي لو ركنت لأذقناك مثلي عذاب الحياة في الدنيا ومثلي عذاب الممات في الآخرة ; قاله ابن عباس ومجاهد وغيرهما . وهذا غاية الوعيد . وكلما كانت الدرجة أعلى كان العذاب عند المخالفة أعظم . قال الله تعالى : " يا نساء النبي من يأت منكن بفاحشة مبينة يضاعف لها العذاب ضعفين " [ الأحزاب : 30 ] وضعف الشيء مثله مرتين , وقد يكون الضعف النصيب ; كقوله عز وجل : " لكل ضعف " [ الأعراف : 38 ] أي نصيب . وقد تقدم في الأعراف .

«إِذاً» حرف جواب.
«لَأَذَقْناكَ» اللام موطئة للقسم وماض وفاعله ومفعوله والجملة لا محل لها لأنها جواب قسم.
«ضِعْفَ» مفعول به.
«الْحَياةِ» مضاف إليه.
«وَضِعْفَ الْمَماتِ» معطوف على ما سبق.
«ثُمَّ» عاطفة.
«لا تَجِدُ» لا نافية ومضارع مرفوع وفاعله مستتر.
«لَكَ» متعلقان بتجد.
«عَلَيْنا» متعلقان بنصيرا.
«نَصِيراً» مفعول به.
