إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ

A lõkacin da Muka aika (Manzannin) biyu zuwa gare su, sai suka ƙaryata su, sa´an nan Muka ƙarfafa (su) da na uku, sai suka ce: "Lalle mũ, Manzanni ne zuwa gare ku."
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا ...
When We sent to them two Messengers, they denied them both;
means, they hastened to disbelieve in them.
... فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ ...
so We reinforced them with a third,
means, `We supported and strengthened them with a third Messenger.'
Ibn Jurayj narrated from Wahb bin Sulayman, from Shu`ayb Al-Jaba'i,
"The names of the first two Messengers were Sham`un and Yuhanna, and the name of the third was Bulus, and the city was Antioch (Antakiyah).
... فَقَالُوا ...
and they said,
means, to the people of that city,
... إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ ﴿١٤﴾
Verily, we have been sent to you as Messengers.
meaning, `from your Lord Who created you and Who commands you to worship Him Alone with no partners or associates.'
This was the view of Abu Al-Aliyah.
Qatadah bin Di`amah claimed that;
they were messengers of the Messiah, peace be upon him, sent to the people of Antioch.
وقوله تعالى : " إذ أرسلنا إليهم اثنين فكذبوهما " أي بادروهما بالتكذيب " فعززنا بثالث " أي قويناهما وشددنا أزرهما برسول ثالث . قال ابن جريج عن وهب بن سليمان عن شعيب الجبابي قال كان اسم الرسولين الأولين شمعون ويوحنا واسم الثالث بولص والقرية أنطاكية " فقالوا " أي لأهل تلك القرية " إنا إليكم مرسلون " أي من ربكم الذي خلقكم يأمركم بعبادته وحده لا شريك له وقاله أبو العالية وزعم قتادة أنهم كانوا رسل المسيح عليه السلام إلى أهل أنطاكية .
"إذ أرسلنا إليهم اثنين فكذبوهما" إلى آخره بدل من إذ الأولى "فعززنا" بالتخفيف والتشديد : قوينا الاثنين
أضاف الرب ذلك إلى نفسه ; لأن عيسى أرسلهما بأمر الرب , وكان ذلك حين رفع عيسى إلى السماء .

«إِذْ» ظرف زمان بدل من إذ الأولى «أَرْسَلْنا» ماض وفاعله والجملة مضاف إليه «إِلَيْهِمُ» متعلقان بالفعل قبلهما «اثْنَيْنِ» مفعول به منصوب بالياء «فَكَذَّبُوهُما» ماض وفاعله ومفعوله والجملة معطوفة «فَعَزَّزْنا» الفاء عاطفة وماض وفاعله والجملة معطوفة «بِثالِثٍ» متعلقان بعززنا «فَقالُوا» ماض وفاعله «إِنَّا» إن ونا المدغمة بها اسمها «إِلَيْكُمْ» متعلقان بما بعدهما «مُرْسَلُونَ» خبر إن المرفوع بالواو لأنه جمع مذكر سالم والجملة في محل نصب مقول القول
