يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ

Rãnar da zã a jã su a cikin wuta a kan fuskõkinsu. &quotKu ɗanɗani shãfar wutar Saƙar.&quot

The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!"
On the day when they shall be dragged upon their faces into the fire; taste the touch of hell.
On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell.

Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)

(Lo! the guilty are in error and madnessナ Lo! We have created every thing by measure) [54:47-49]. Abuメl-Qasim Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Sarraj informed us (by dictation)> Abu Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Musa al-Kabi> Hamdan ibn Salih al-Ashajj> Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Aziz ibn Abi Rawwad> Sufyan al-Thawri> Ziyad ibn Ismail al-Makhzumi> Muhammad ibn Abbad ibn Jafar> Abu Hurayrah who said: モThe Quraysh came to dispute the question of Destiny. Allah, exalted is He, therefore revealed (Lo! The guilty are in error and madnessナ Lo! We have created every thing by measure)ヤ. This was narrated by Muslim from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah> Waki> Sufyan.
By Allah, I bear witness that Abuメl-Harith Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahim al-Hafiz informed us in Jurjan; he said: モBy Allah, I bear witness that Abu Nuaym Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Bazzaz informed us; he said: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard Ali ibn Jandal saying: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard Abuメl-Hasan Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Ubayy in Khurasan say: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard Abd Allah ibn al-Saqr al-Hafiz say: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard Ufayr ibn Madan say: by Allah, I bear witness that I heard Salim ibn Amir say: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili say: By Allah, I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, say: This verse was revealed about the deniers of Destiny (al-Qadariyyah): (Lo! the guilty are in error and madnessナ Lo! We have created every thing by measure).
Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith related to us> Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Asfahani> Jarir ibn Harun> Ali al-Tanafisi> Ubayd Allah ibn Musa> Bahr al-Saqaメ> A Shaykh from Quraysh> Ataメ who said: モThe bishop of
Najran came to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, and said: O Muhammad, you claim that sins are created by measure and that the seas and heaven are also created by measure. If it is true that the seas and heaven are created by measure, sins nevertheless cannot beメ. The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, said: You are Allahメs adversaries!メ And then Allah, exalted is He, revealed (Lo! the guilty are in error and madness) up to His words (Lo! We have created every thing by measure)ヤ.
Abu Bakr informed us> Abd Allah> Amr ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Hasan> Ahmad ibn al-Khalil> Abd Allah ibn Rajaメ al-Azdi> Amr ibn Alaメ, the brother of Abu Amr ibn al-Alaメ> Khalid ibn Salamah al-Qurashi> Said ibn Amr ibn Jadah al-Makhzumi> Ibn Abi Zurarah al-Ansari> his father who related that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, read this verse (Lo! the guilty are in error and madness) and then said: モThis verse was revealed about some future people from amongst this community who will deny the Destiny of Allah, exalted is Heヤ.
Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Hiri informed us> Muhammad ibn Yaqub al-Maqili> Abu Utbah Ahmad ibn al-Faraj> Baqiyyah> Ibn Thawban> Bakir ibn Usayd> his father
who said: モI was with Muhammad ibn Kab when he said: If you ever see me talk about Destiny, then tie
me up for I am then a madman. By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, these verses have not been revealed
except about madmenメ. Then he recited (Lo! the guilty are in error and madnessナ Lo! We have created
every thing by measure)ヤ.

Allah the Exalted said,

يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ...

The Day they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire,

meaning, just as they were consumed in doubt, suspicion and hesitation, they ended up in the Fire. And just as they were misguided, they will end up being dragged on their faces, unaware of where they will be taken. They will be admonished and criticized,

... ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ ﴿٤٨﴾

"Taste you the touch of Hell!''

أي كما كانوا في سعر وشك وتردد أورثهم ذلك النار وكما كانوا ضلالا يسحبون فيها على وجوههم لا يدرون أين يذهبون ويقال لهم تقريعا وتوبيخا" ذوقوا مس سقر " .

"يوم يسحبون في النار على وجوههم" في الآخرة ويقال لهم "ذوقوا مس سقر" إصابة جهنم لكم

في صحيح مسلم عن أبي هريرة قال : جاء مشركو قريش يخاصمون رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في القدر فنزلت : " يوم يسحبون في النار على وجوههم ذوقوا مس سقر . إنا كل شيء خلقناه بقدر " خرجه الترمذي أيضا وقال : حديث حسن صحيح . وروى مسلم عن طاوس قال : أدركت ناسا من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقولون : كل شيء بقدر . قال : وسمعت عبد الله بن عمر يقول : قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : ( كل شيء بقدر حتى العجز والكيس - أو الكيس والعجز ) وهذا إبطال لمذهب القدرية . " ذوقوا " أي يقال لهم ذوقوا , ومسها ما يجدون من الألم عند الوقوع فيها . و " سقر " اسم من أسماء جهنم لا ينصرف ; لأنه اسم مؤنث معرفة , وكذا لظى وجهنم . وقال عطاء : " سقر " الطبق السادس من جهنم . وقال قطرب : " سقر " من سقرته الشمس وصقرته لوحته . ويوم مسمقر ومصمقر : شديد الحر .

«يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ» ظرف زمان ومضارع مبني للمجهول والواو نائب فاعل والجملة في محل جر بالإضافة «فِي النَّارِ» متعلقان بالفعل «عَلى وُجُوهِهِمْ» متعلقان بالفعل أيضا «ذُوقُوا» أمر مبني على حذف النون والواو فاعله والجملة مقول قول مقدر «مَسَّ» مفعول به مضاف إلى سقر «سَقَرَ» مضاف إليه
