Sabõda haka, suka yawaita yin ɓarna a cikinsu.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
Allah said,
الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ ﴿١١﴾
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ ﴿١٢﴾
Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands. And made therein much mischief.
meaning, they rebelled, were arrogant, and went about making corruption in the land, and harming the people.
عاثوا في الأرض بالإفساد والأذية للناس .
" فأكثروا فيها الفساد " القتل وغيره
أي الجور والأذى . و " الذين طغوا " أحسن الوجوه فيه أن يكون في محل النصب على الذم . ويجوز أن يكون مرفوعا على : هم الذين طغوا , أو مجرورا على وصف المذكورين : عاد , وثمود , وفرعون .

«فَأَكْثَرُوا» ماض وفاعله والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها «فِيهَا» متعلقان بالفعل «الْفَسادَ» مفعول به.
