فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّا أُخْفِيَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَاء
بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحاً وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ
Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waylakum thawabu Allahi khayrun liman amana waAAamila salihan wala yulaqqaha illa alssabiroona

Kuma waɗanda aka bai wa ilmi suka ce: "Kaitonku! sakamakon Allah ne mafi alhħri a wanda ya yi tunãni, kuma ya aikata aikin ƙwarai,(2) kuma bãbu wanda ake haɗãwa da ita fãce mai ha ƙuri."
But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)."
And those who were given the knowledge said: Woe to you! Allah's reward is better for him who believes and does good, and none is made to receive this except the patient.
But those who had been given knowledge said: Woe unto you! The reward of Allah for him who believeth and doeth right is better, and only the steadfast will obtain it.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ ...
But those who had been given knowledge said:
When the people of beneficial knowledge heard this, they said to them:
... وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ...
Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for those who believe and do righteous deeds,
Allah's reward to His believing, righteous servants in the Hereafter is better than what you see,' as is reported in the authentic Hadith:
يَقُولُ اللهُ تَعَالَى: أَعْدَدْتُ لِعِبَادِي الصَّالِحِينَ مَا لَا عَيْنٌ رَأَتْ وَلَا أُذُنٌ سَمِعَتْ وَلَا خَطَرَ عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ:
Allah has prepared for His righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and the heart of a human cannot comprehend. Recite, if you wish:
فَلاَ تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أُخْفِىَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَآءً بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ
No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do. (32:17)
... وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ ﴿٨٠﴾
and this none shall attain except the patient.
As-Suddi said:
"None shall reach Paradise except for the patient'' -- as if this were the completion of the statement made by the people of knowledge.
Ibn Jarir said,
"This applies only to those who patiently forsake the love of this world, seeking the Hereafter. It is as if this is part of what the people of knowledge said, but it is made part of the Words of Allah, stating this fact.''
" ويلكم ثواب الله خير لمن آمن وعمل صالحا " أي جزاء الله لعباده المؤمنين الصالحين في الدار الآخرة خير مما ترون . كما في الحديث الصحيح " يقول الله تعالى أعددت لعبادي الصالحين ما لا عين رأت ولا أذن سمعت ولا خطر على قلب بشر واقرءوا إن شئتم " فلا تعلم نفس ما أخفي لهم من قرة أعين جزاء بما كانوا يعملون " وقوله " ولا يلقاها إلا الصابرون " قال السدي ولا يلقى الجنة إلا الصابرون كأنه جعل ذلك من تمام كلام الذين أوتوا العلم قال ابن جرير ولا يلقى هذه الكلمة إلا الصابرون عن محبة الدنيا الراغبون في الدار الآخرة وكأنه جعل ذلك مقطوعا من كلام أولئك وجعله من كلام الله عز وجل وإخباره بذلك .
"وقال" لهم "الذين أوتوا العلم" بما وعد الله في الآخرة "ويلكم" كلمة زجر "ثواب الله" في الآخرة بالجنة "خير لمن آمن وعمل صالحا" مما أوتي قارون في الدنيا "ولا يلقاها" أي الجنة المثاب بها "إلا الصابرون" على الطاعة وعن المعصية
وهم أحبار بني إسرائيل قالوا للذين تمنوا مكانه " ويلكم "

«وَقالَ» الواو حرف عطف وماض مبني على الفتح «الَّذِينَ» فاعل والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها «أُوتُوا» ماض مبني للمجهول والواو نائب فاعل «الْعِلْمَ» مفعول به والجملة صلة الذين لا محل لها «وَيْلَكُمْ» مفعول مطلق لفعل محذوف «ثَوابُ» مبتدأ «اللَّهِ» لفظ الجلالة مضاف إليه «خَيْرٌ» خبر المبتدأ «لِمَنْ» متعلقان بخير والجملة مقول القول. «آمَنَ» ماض فاعله مستتر والجملة صلة من «عَمِلَ» «وَعَمِلَ» معطوف على آمن «صالِحاً» مفعول به «وَلا» الواو استئنافية ولا نافية «يُلَقَّاها» مضارع مبني للمجهول وها مفعول به «إِلَّا» حرف حصر «الصَّابِرُونَ» نائب فاعل والجملة مستأنفة لا محل لها
