Lalle sũ, sun iske ubanninsu batattu.
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
Allah's saying;
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءهُمْ ضَالِّينَ ﴿٦٩﴾
Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path;
means, `We will punish them for that because they found their fathers following misguidance and they followed them with no evidence or proof.'
وقوله تعالى " إنهم ألفوا آباءهم ضالين " أي إنما جازيناهم بذلك لأنهم وجدوا آباءهم على الضلالة فاتبعوهم فيها بمجرد ذلك من غير دليل ولا برهان ولهذا قال " فهم على آثارهم يهرعون " قال مجاهد شبيهة بالهرولة وقال سعيد بن جبير يسفهون .
"إنهم ألفوا" وجدوا
أي صادفوهم كذلك فاقتدوا بهم .
