يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
بِهَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ
أَلَا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
The Disbelievers thought that the Day of Resurrection would never come to pass
Allah tells,
وَيَقُولُونَ ...
And they say:
Allah tells us how the disbelievers thought that the Day of Resurrection would never come to pass, as they said:
... مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ ...
"When will this promise be fulfilled...''
يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا
Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it. (42:18)
... إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴿٤٨﴾
if you are truthful.''
يخبر تعالى عن استبعاد الكفرة لقيام الساعة في قولهم " متى هذا الوعد " يستعجل بها الذين لا يؤمنون بها " .
"ويقولون متى هذا الوعد" بالبعث "إن كنتم صادقين" فيه
لما قيل لهم : " اتقوا ما بين أيديكم وما خلفكم " قالوا : " متى هذا الوعد " وكان هذا استهزاء منهم أيضا أي لا تحقيق لهذا الوعيد .

«وَيَقُولُونَ» الواو حرف استئناف ومضارع مرفوع وفاعله والجملة استئنافية لا محل لها «مَتى » اسم استفهام خبر «هذَا» مبتدأ مؤخر «الْوَعْدُ» بدل «إِنْ» شرطية «كُنْتُمْ» كان واسمها «صادِقِينَ» خبرها وحذف جواب الشرط لأن ما قبله دل عليه
