Hausa Translation
"Har gaskiya (wãto mutuwa) ta zo mana."
Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation)
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ ﴿٤٦﴾
حَتَّى أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ ﴿٤٧﴾
And we used to deny the Day of Recompense, until the certainty (Al-Yaqin) came to us.
meaning, death.
This is as Allah says,
وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ
and worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty. (15:99)
The Messenger of Allah said,
أَمَّا هُوَ يعني عثمان بن مظعون فَقَدْ جَاءَهُ الْيَقِينُ مِنْ رَبِّه
Concerning him verily, Al-Yaqin (death) came to him from his Lord.''
يعني الموت كقوله تعالى" واعبد ربك حتى يأتيك اليقين " وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " أما هو - يعني عثمان بن مظعون - فقد جاءه اليقين من ربه " .
"حتى أتانا اليقين" الموت
أي جاءنا ونزل بنا الموت ; ومنه قوله تعالى : " واعبد ربك حتى يأتيك اليقين " [ الحجر : 99 ] .
