وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
Wamin rahmatihi jaAAala lakumu allayla waalnnahara litaskunoo feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona

"Kuma daga rahamarSa Ya sanya muku dare da yini dõmin ku natsu a cikinsa, kuma dõmin ku nħma daga falalarSa, kuma tsammãninku zã ku gõde."
English Translation
It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful.
And out of His mercy He has made for you the night and the day, that you may rest therein, and that you may seek of His grace, and that you may give thanks.
Of His mercy hath He appointed for you night and day, that therein ye may rest, and that ye may seek His bounty, and that haply ye may be thankful.

Tafseer (English)
Then Allah tells:
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ...
Say: "Tell me! If Allah made the day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection,
Allah tells us that if He had made the day continuous, lasting until the Day of Resurrection, that would also be harmful for them and their bodies would get tired from so much movement and activity.
Allah says:
... مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ ...
which god besides Allah could bring you night wherein you rest!
meaning, `to rest from your work and activity.'
... أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿٧٢﴾
وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِ ...
Will you not then see, It is out of His mercy, (towards you),
... جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ...
that He has made for you the night and the day,
i.e. He created both,
... لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ ...
that you may rest therein, (during the night),
... وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ ...
and that you may seek of His bounty,
during the day, by traveling, moving about and working.
... وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿٧٣﴾
and in order that you may be grateful.
So that you may give thanks to Allah by performing all kinds of acts of worship at night and during the day. Whoever misses something during the night can make it up during the day, and vice versa.
This is like the Ayah,
وَهُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُوراً
And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude. (25:62)

Tafseer (Arabic)
" ومن رحمته " أي بكم " جعل لكم الليل والنهار " أي خلق هذا وهذا " لتسكنوا فيه " أي في الليل " ولتبتغوا من فضله " أي في النهار بالأسفار والترحال والحركات والأشغال وهذا من باب اللف والنشر . وقوله : " ولعلكم تشكرون " أي تشكرون الله بأنواع العبادات في الليل والنهار ومن فاته شيء بالليل استدركه بالنهار أو بالنهار استدركه بالليل كما قال تعالى : " وهو الذي جعل الليل والنهار خلفة لمن أراد أن يذكر أو أراد شكورا " والآيات في هذا كثيرة .
"ومن رحمته" تعالى "جعل لكم الليل والنهار لتسكنوا فيه" أي في الليل "ولتبتغوا من فضله" في النهار للكسب "ولعلكم تشكرون" النعمة فيهما
أي فيهما وقيل : الضمير للزمان وهو الليل والنهار
I'raab - grammatical analysis of the Qur'an
«وَمِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ» الواو حرف استئناف ومتعلقان بالفعل بعدهما «جَعَلَ» ماض فاعله مستتر «لَكُمُ» متعلقان بالفعل «اللَّيْلَ» مفعول به «وَالنَّهارَ» معطوف على الليل «لِتَسْكُنُوا» مضارع منصوب بأن مضمرة بعد لام التعليل والواو فاعل ، والمصدر المؤول من أن والفعل في محل جر باللام والجار والمجرور متعلقان بالفعل جعل «فِيهِ» متعلقان بالفعل «وَلِتَبْتَغُوا» معطوف على لتسكنوا «مِنْ فَضْلِهِ» متعلقان بالفعل. «وَلَعَلَّكُمْ» الواو حرف عطف ولعل واسمها «تَشْكُرُونَ» مضارع وفاعله والجملة الفعلية خبر لعل ، والجملة الاسمية معطوفة على ما قبلها
